I recently purchased from ebay a 00 BCM (Body Control Module) for my 99 sierra. I have been told that this swap will clear the airbag light on my escalade cluster and I will be able to turn the drl's/headlights off with the cargo light switch or dome override switch. Has anyone done this swap and do they have any probs when doing it? I have an HPP III also that is currently installed, but I think that it reprograms the PCM. I am going to return the PCM to stock setting just in case there is a problem. My plan is to uninstall the hppIII, disconnect the battery, swap out bcm's, reconnect battery, program the bcm to the truck's r-code, and then re-install the hppIII. Just curious if anyone has had any issues. Any install suggestions would be helpful.

not an answer, but i had no idea that the new trucks (99+) had a separate computer that covers components out side of engine operations, or has this type of equipment been part of most vehicles all along?

don't know if this helps, but when the fbody guys remove thier airbags and change the steering wheels, they put a resistor across the wires that go to the airbag,

i'm sure this doesn't help, or maybe it does,

    good luck,
