Hello Guys, last Friday when I picked up my engine, I had a 6L waiting for me on the dyno to tune. It's a completely stock engine with no mods, right out of the crate.

This engine put out 311HP and 351TQ on the first pull.

I wanted to see what timing did as it was increased:

Stock - 14-16degs : 311hp/351tq
Tuned- 20 degs : 350hp/380tq
Tuned- 25 degs : 356hp/390tq
Tuned- 30 degs : 357hp/392tq

Fully tuned with a/f ratio and max timing of 31 degs:
367HP/401TQ

Gains: 56HP/50TQ

There might have been a few more ponies left if we leaned it out just a few more points, but their wide-band wasn't working right.

Next time: stock 6.0L with 224/228cam and
FAST intake vs Truck intake.

btw just an fyi, the last 6L I tuned down there was an LQ9 that put out 441hp with a 224 cam, I was mistaken, I told you guys it was an LQ4.

later,

Those numbers sound pretty good to me. Wish your shop wasn't so far away, I'd love to put this thing on the dyno and get a tune.
I'm currently building a 6.0 now for my truck. I'm expecting close to 480-500rwhp when its all done. Of coarse thats if the supercharger can handle it.

Question for allen. I want to put an injected motor in my 67 camaro. Would this be a good candidate or should I go with an LS-1 from the newer camaros?

You can't go wrong with a 6L or an LS1, it's a really hard decision. If you're not worried about the additional weight, go for a 6L, an LQ9 with a cam.
I think if you were to compare a 6L vs LS1 with the same aftermarket cam, the 6L would produce more power.

I've got a brand new 6L here for you, hehehe. $2800.00 takes it. It's complete and has already been dyno tested.

good luck,

allen

Jims was looking for some more info on your 6.0 for sale. Maybe you should give him a PM.

What year would this engine be considered? Does it come with a pretuned PCM? What year VIN code is the PCM? Would the wiring harness be a simple plug and play setup?
