6.0 4l80e looking for power adders?

hey guys, im sorta new here, never really posted much but now im gettin into it as its a great site to be part of. i have an 02 sierra extended cab short bed 2500hd with the 6.0 4l80e. im looking for some power adders. looking for more so the torque, and seat of the pants from the line power. i already have a nelson tune, magnaflow single out exhaust. i am wondering if the cold air is worth it, and wether i can get a set of affordable long tube headers for it, cause i cant justify the $1000 where i can get a set of shorties for $300? and what should i do for a cam? shift kits? keep in mind i use the truck for an everyday driver, a pulling truck for equipment and plow occassionaly with it also... anybody have any good afordable ideas they would be appreciated! i am a VW technician also so if anyone has any questions on em send me a pm...

    2WD or 4WD?

I would try the shorty or mid-length headers if going for low end power. Yes, a CAI is worth it.

As for a cam, you can go OTS with like a Vinci 043 or the 079. Or go with a custom grind...like a 212/218 .531/.535 112+2 LSA cam. Better valve springs and pushrods are required.

A shift kit for the 4L80e will help! They are not that bad to install and can be done with the tranny in the truck.

I'm happy with my Transgo HD2 shift kit. The 80e is a beast but its a pretty lazy shifter.

I did cam , shift kit (TransGo HD2) , CAI and long tube headers , on a HD series truck the long tubes are a PITA but worth it .

Of course tuned it myself with EFILive .
Now what is a tune again?

    Comp Cam 54-412-11 , Int:265, 212, .522 , Exh: 271, 218, .529 , LSA 114 , Longtube , CAI (Vararam) , TransGo HD2 shift kit , tuned by me with EFILive

its a LS motor it will never have true off idle torque like a sbc does

i wouldnt waste time on shorties LTs if you can afford a set will help out some

You can get Pacesetter longtubes(ceramic coated-no cats) from Texas Speed for $550.

do they have the y-pipe like the 5.3s? my 6.0 has single cats and dual until it gets to the muffler... side by side all the way back to the muffler...

No texas speed does not have the y-pipe for the 6.0 cause technically there isn't one. The exhaust on the 6.0 is duals until it enters the muffler and after its single. U can buy the headers but the y-pipe does not work, I know I just ordered the kit and I am sending the y-pipe back.
