I just want to say thanks for all of the documentation on your engine swap. I just found this forum in my quest to find info for my engine swap. I am shopping for a 5.3 myself and want to keep my 700r4 in place because I have a 1987 4X4 and don't want to do a lot of work moving the drive train around. I am very impressed with mileage you getting now. (just what I am looking for).

i believe both the ep241 and 381 to be rated at 80psi. i think they are the same pump but the 381 is a kit with gaskets.

and yep, they are direct replacments.

I about forgot about this thread! I've been driving the snot out of the truck, no problems at all, and have been getting 19-20 on the highway.

Had a dyno tune done, and the final numbers were 266hp and 305tq at the tires. Not bad for bone stock.

I finally got the A/C back together and working. Used the 5.3's original compressor, and the rest of the components are OE to the truck. Was happy that I could use the 5.3's compressor without having to notch the frame! All new stuff except the evaporator, but original to the truck. Just in time for the warm weather too! Of course, it was 79° yesterday, and this morning I woke up to 5" of snow!
