    It Lives!

Gotta love these newfangled injected motors... In the middle of my wiring thrash I got impatient and hot wired the motor to do a test run... and it started immediately! No drama, no "almost started", no spit and cough, etc., etc.,..... The exhaust isn't connected yet (manifolds) and no O2s, so it never settled in to closed loop and it was a little loud to give it a good listen for problems (ebay used motor) but I'm happy none the less.
Lots of details left and small parts to get before I drive it down to the exhaust shop but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel....

Anyone have info on the 3 wire temp sensor I've seen referred to? I've read posts where some folks with OBS trucks use the 3 wire with stock gauges but does anyone know if it will work with an aftermarket temp gauge?
Or has anyone used the opposite side head to install an additional temp sending unit for their gauge there?
    TIA, Andy

Well, the personal experience I have had with the three wire sensor has not been positive. The temp reading on my dash is way off. I just finished relocating the three wire sensor to the passenger rear of head and put a stock 93 sensor in the head at the driver front head where the original was. I had to drill out the hole to fit the 1/4 NPT thread fitting but now it reads accurately. I'd say save your money and use the original or the sending unit from an aftermarket unit. I did the sending unit on the driver side since all I had to do was to pull the fender well off so I could get a drill motor in there to open up the hole. I couldn't get to the passenger side without pulling the head or engine.

Another small step towards completion...... spent too many hours wiring up my guages.... I've also ripped out the entire electrical harness from the truck and have started installing a "It's a Snap" 20 circuit harness.......it is not a "snap"....

I'll be getting started on pulling out my old wiring that's no longer being used. Just pushed my truck back under the carport (my youngest son had his 2yr old party yesterday).

Oh, forgot to say, Nice looking guages you got there. After drooling over the spaghetti I had to take a snack break.
