My Shoenfeld headers are about an inch above the bottom of the frame rails. My truck is lowered.

do you have plans to put the air conditioning unit back in and if so how much trouble will it be?

The only real concern I have ran into as far as clearance goes is that the LS truck oil pans hang a little lower than the pan did when the truck still had the Vortec 5.7.
Can you please take a picture and a measurement of how far below the frame it hangs down?

I do plan on putting A/C back in the truck. I will have to buy a bracket to mount the compressor. The wiring harness I am using has an A/C signal wire that I will have to use in order for it to all work. Here is a picture of how the headers fit. I'll have to get another for the oil pan.

is the 4l60e holding up to the 6.0?

Yep, so far so good. Only have maybe 100 miles on it though. Its a fresh rebuild with shift kit and all the bells and whistles. I'm running a Tru-Cool 40K so that is surely keeping the trans temp down. Heat is usually what kills them.

What's the main culprit to change in the 4l60 to make it hold up to a 6.0? I have a 1999 ecsb with 4.8 I want to swap in a 6.0. I do NOT run it hard or squeal tires or anything. Its our family vehicle. We tow our boat with it and its just underpowered towing it. Even with no load it has to drop down a gear to climb hills when cruising. So I want to swap in a 6.0 and keep the 4l60.

In your situation you might just be happier with simple gear swap.

^^^ I bet the 60 would be just fine in that situation but a trans go HD-2, sun shell and 5 pinion planetary would for sure do it. Oh and of course a good cooler.
