he doesn't invent cam lobe profiles, lift amounts and durations, he just recommends ones that work to people that lack the knowledge to properly select a camshaft. He obviously has cam data software and knows how to use it, plus he has feedback from his customers. Anyone can do what he is doing if they invest the time to learn how to do what he is doing. He is providing a service to those that don't know camshafts and how they work. People have to eat and I respect that, I feel he charges a fair rate for what he does. Many companies like Thunder have a base group of cams they try to push on their customers rather than trying to spec the best cam they can for a given vehicle application. I believe Pat G works for the customer, not the company since he is only selling his knowledge not a material item, AKA a camshaft. Have you used COMP's cam selection software? It's pretty cool but doesn't cover everything and it only recommends their shelf spec cams.

Pat G is a Beast in my book...i rather pay him 25 bucks to spec me a perfect cam for my setup than just guess or run a cam everyone is already running

i remember back then i had a thumper cam in my 4.8 lmao

then swapped to a 6.0 had him spec me that 231 235 .617.620 113+2 cam for N/A and damm it was really hard to let it go when i decided to sell it...thats how happy i was with it...
    the Guy knows his stuff........

now im running a new cam spect out from him for forced induction 222/222 .601.601 115....

Like I said earlier. No one is questioning his know how. (least I am not) All I'm saying is I'd have Alot more respect and I feel Alot more people would as well if when the perfect cam came out to be a ots he would say "well you payed me 25 imma refund you 10 bucks and the cam you need is ______ from _______ being it's ots and not my cam I am not charging you full amount just for my time spent making sure. " that would be something respectable and fair to the people who spec'd it first.

something to think about. you laugh at the thumper yet theres a guy with a stockish 6litre in a moddest weight RCSB that runs mid 11s with nothing special....look his combo up from a few years ago. 67509SS i believe was is name or close to it. some of those cams do work, just need other parts to match it.
