seriously, im getting all this crap, just because of my age! i swear! no one can accept that i want a swap that bolts in with little or no fab work, and that i have done HOURS of research on whats best for it. but im 15, so none of that matters, huh? whatever... i know enough people that will be able to help on the ods and ends, i will get the engine, put it in, run it on a buddy's dyno, and post the numbers here... and still get crap for not going with the 6.0L.

No the 95 TBI 454 engine was around from 90-95 (GEN V BBC). The 454SS trucks had that same engine and they started production in 90 as well.

    Mark IV BBC pre-90
    GEN V 90-95
    Vortec 7.4L 96-00

There are tons of parts for the Mark IV that will interchange on the TBI BBC, and there are lots of people running TBI or Tunnel ram setups on Mark IVs.

ok, then tell me this, when i look for parts on our suburban they either fit 1991-1993 or 1994-1995 or 1996-2004.

So you think 96-2004 all have the same engine?
Yes, there are some small differences between the accessories and sensors 90-93 and 94-95, but not much. The body style is also different from 90-91 and 92-99.

I don't care what engine you want to put in. I always liked towing with the big block trucks we've had before. Go with what you like and godspeed to you.

But regardless, this is a site dedicated to LS series engined trucks. What other response did you expect?

Agreed you get in a site based on LS motors and expect someone to tell you to run something other than a LS motor. might look into gmt400.com or fullsizechevy.com for your answers

ill be the one getting the ram! j/k seriously hope you do too!

The ''big deal out of the sentence'' is because i think its funny you said it was a good deal because it actually worth 9k, and then you were going to bring proof by showing some ads that someone else posted. but hey what do i know its probably a real ''cream puff'' or ''my loss is your gain'' kinda thing.

i dont think they have the same engine, thats why i made that comment. and i dont care how small the differences are that your talking about are, they all still say parts only go on 1994-1995 suburbans...

This site caters to LS swaps. That's why it's called LS1truck. We don't bother with 8.1s for a reason. We like to have driveablity, reliability, fuel mileage, and more power than you'll see an 8.1 produce. You aren't going to have an easy time here looking for 8.1 information. You might as well come in here asking for 5.4 Ford info. We aren't trying to be douchebags. You came to the wrong site for 8.1 support, that's all. The fact that you're 15 and act like you know everything (yet you're still here... asking questions) is not going to get you anywhere. All you've done is come in here and show off Daddy's cars and act like we have no idea what we're talking about.
