well i just noticed a exhuast leak , but its not that bad or even noticable at idle or slow driving, but on the freeway with the windows up it sounds pretty bad

I was gonna say exhaust leak, if it's noticeable, it might cause an issue, also it would have to be a big one, but check the intake tubes as well.

well im gonna re do my y-pipe, sounds like a pretty bad leak from the header to y-pipe bolt conectors, plus theres only 1 of 3 bolts on each side that are tight. got worse this morning on the way to work. gonna let it cool down and do it myself ......considering it should have been done correctly from the shop that did the job. already checked ALL my intake pipes from turbo to intake, all good.

SOOOOOOO i got under my truck to fix the leak and what it saw was horrible work. turns out they bent my manifold studs where it connects to the Y-pipe flange, stripped all 3 studs, grinded one for some reason, broke one ,and added 7 washers to the only one that would hold any sort of tight ,if you call that tight.

called him up completly discusted with his work and told him i am not driving back out there for the 5th time, it takes me 1 hr without traffic to get there. He agreed to let me take it to a local muffler shop and have them fix and replace the studs and he will reimburse me .

NOW , that i figured out why my truck was not boosting correctly due to no constent exhuast flow to spin my turbo, makes me wonder if that 1 1/2 hr drive i did yesterday when i picked it up and drove home freid my turbo! i noticed a few drops of oil sitting on the bottom of the compressor side of the turbo and i know it was not like that. honestly i own my own buisness and do not believe in bad talking other companys BUT this is just the most unprofessional so called "transmission shop" ive ever givin my buisness to.

Gteran- how did your "experience" go today with your truck ?

ok took my truck to my local muffler shop where ive trusted for yrs and they fixed it, had to change all three studs on the manifold ,the guy payed the shop $130 to fix . man i should have put this $130 towards some headers but oh well. i havnt tested the boost yet to see if its working correctly because its all neighborhood driving to and from the shop, gonna test it out on my way home and i will let yall know whats up.

:::: Ok i drove it around and on the freeway, still has a boost problem, got the manifold fixed but when i floor it it lags boost alot more than before, and when i hit about 4rpm it barely hits 10 psi maybe 9 and then as the rpms get higher it drops boost to around 4-7 psi . whats goin on here? bad wastegate, wastegate seal,or turbo??? 9:15pm

10:25pm, pulled wastegate ,inspected and cleaned, all works as it should. im getting extremely frustrated now..
