Okay i got a few more tech questions to go with what i have already ask.
If i go with a painless wiring harness for the 6.0 ls engine will this greatly reduce the level of hassel that is associated with the wiring portion of the swap. here is where i found the harness at and the price is $944.17.
Painless Performance 1999 & Up Vortec 4.8, 5.3 & 6.0L Fuel Injection Harness/Ex.Length
That's pricey. Have you contacted NelsonPerformance about one of their harnesses and hotrod tunes?

no not yet. i am still researching and gathering as much infomation as possable. the only problem i am thinking i will have will be the gauges. the rest of it should be pretty much straight forward.
So far i am looking at doing a 6.0l swap with the 4l80e. I have not decided on which transfer case to use and the only harness i have found is the painless performance. I am thinking i can get a set of long tube truck headers from summitracing for an ls1 truck to work in my truck. I have three possable engine/tranny combos i have found so far one has 92,000 miles and its 2,000 the other two are 121,000 and 128,000 each for 1400. but like i said i am still looking. each engine tranny combo comes complete with engine and tranny harness. i am hoping its better to measure 10 times and cut once instead of measuring once and cutting 10 times.
