havent really been able to do much with the truck. i officially gave up on the pns switch issue and decided to just send it over to an electrical shop. the truck starts and sounds great with open headers. now that its running theres trans fluid leaking from where the trans connects to the transfer case and also where the dip stick goes in. the engine is also still crooked so the trans doesnt line up with the crossmember. im going to let the shop finish all that. oh yea my my blower wont turn on anymore either.

i decided o also change the front lights and turn signals back to stock. already installed the turn signals and parking lamps. im just waiting for the clear headlights to come in the mail. here are some recent pics

eentually ill get it painted and put a cowl hood on. i want to to look kinda like this one...

    getting there!!!!!!
i'm not using my PNS switch. since i'm using the trans from the camaro they had the PNS in the column from what i'm told & the shaft coming out the trans is too short to attach the switch to.
i'm the only person who EVER drives my truck anyway.

i was thinking of bypassing the switch as well but then i lose the gear indicator on the dash as well as the back up lights. plus id want everything to work the way its supposed to first then ill change some things later.

Nope you don't need both. I was able to Eliminate my stock pcm. If you search through the lsx conversion threads there's a guy called wayoung or something. He put a 4.8 into a 97 suburban. If you read his thread he tells you how to eliminate the stock pcm. I'll look later and see if I can find my notes from when I did the wiring . It's pretty easy because the wires that went to the stick pcm can be removed and plugged right into your ls pcm.

You don't need to run two PCMs. You also don't need to graft two harnesses. If you are installing a Gen3 DBC engine then you only need to repin your PCM and add about ten wires for the coils. You will need to lengthen your CKP wires and cut the big injector plug off of the original harness and add the 8 individual connectors.

So the trans will shift fine without the PNS switch hooked up? I guess I can go without a gear indicator for a bit
