Hey guys whats going? Well the whole thing slowed down because S&P took all of 2 1/2 weeks to send me a pair of motor mounts Anyways at least they redid my fuel rail and they also told me that the vortech fuel pump will power up the LS1 with no problems so we will see when it gets here. I wanted the walbro but hardly anyone carries. So the whole package will be here tomorrow friday, suposedly but I dont think I will get started this weekend cuz tomorrow is my B-day (turning 21) so you know how that goes.

Hopefully I can get started on the Thanskgiving weekend. The one thing thats really agrevating me its that dang clutch pedal I definetly need something to look at. But Ill keep you guys updated. Laters.

Let the games began! I started the pull today but I couldnt even get the old one out. Its ready though, all I have to do is hook up the cherry picker and pull it. The LS1 will be in tomorrow. I just hope the the tranny crossmember doesnt give alot of crap. Everything should be hook up and up no later than next week. Ill post some pics tomorrow if I can.

The V6 is out of there. Tomorrow all I have to do is chain up the LS1 and drop it in. I have to modify the crossmember a tad bit but the V6 mounts bolted to the adaptor plates from S&P. By the way sorry bout the quality of the pics but my camera does not have a flash and it sucks indoors.

Yeah, you need a better camera with a flash. Those are pretty tough to check out. Sounds like a fun conversion you're doing there. The V6 mounts sit in the wrong location if I remember correctly. They are offset to the rear of the truck. I had to remove mine and put V8 mounts on the crossmember. The easiest way to get to them is to remove the lower a-arms and go through there for bolt access.

Damn Greg you were right. I read your post around lunch time but I was puzzled. Then this evening I found out the V6 mounts push the LS1 a few inches into the firewall. So to say the least Im pissed! So I need the get V8 mounts huh? Will any V8 truck mounts do? Oh and the bolts seem to be accesible from the top instead of removing the whole A-arm or am I being silly? O'right man hit me back soon, thanks.

Every bolt has a nut or something to screw into. The V6 mounts have nuts. I torched mine out and then fished a new bolt through the crossmember by pushing a wire through the hole, twisted around the bolt and then pulled it through and tack welded it into place. You'll need to buy V8 mounts and receiver cups to bolt the engine adapter plate mounts. I bought the cups at a salvage yard and the rubber mounts at NAPA. You can probably get them both at NAPA or the dealership. Buy the mounts for your year model truck.

I got the motor, tranny and most of the wiring harness in the truck over the weekend. For the motor mounts heres what I did. I took the S&P adapter plates and flipped them the other way around. Put the V6 mounts on them and dropped them right on original the original V6 motor brackets. I got about 3-4 inches between the firewall and the engine. Since everything shifted forward the driveshart slid right into place. I should have everything done by the end of the weekend. I will post a whole lot of pics over the week. Thanks for all the help specially Greg.

you're welcome, anytime. That's a lot of room back there. I guess that will make it easy to work on things back in that area. Watch your exhaust pipe exit locations with the engine so far forward.
