How did you get the cruise control cable off of the throttle body?
i did this swap to and got a 99 6.0 for my 99 sierra to replace the 5.3 .. turns out you need a 01 or newer or that spacer that you can remove to run the 4l60e is built into your crank and its you cant remove it... so your stuck swaping the 4l80e into it....
Contact Circle-D and tell them your setup and they can build you a custom convertor to work with your early 6L/60e combination. Going to 80e would be good insurance, too.
