thanks! i wouldnt have been able to do it without the help from this site! hopefully i can motivate others as well. im not a super mechanic by any means and im working with the most basic tools and i havent faced any major hurdles til today when i tried to remove the harmonic balancer. dont know how im going to get this thing off without and impact gun

If it takes an impact you are doing it wrong. The pulley has a flange on it the same diam as the bolt hole. Dont push on it thinking you are pushing on the crank. I put a 3/8 extension in the bolthole and then push against it.

doesn't say anything about reverse threads but does say you may need an extender bar for more leverage & a puller to get it off.

I put a chain through the balancer and to the frame and then take the handle from my floor jack and slip it over my breaker bar to loosen the bolt. Goes from the drivers side fender towards the passenger side when the breaker bar handle is is pointed up.

i did the same thing. i used the hoist chain and used the jack handle and it came off. so now to autozone to rent the puller. wasnt that bad.
