Well to start off, I'll let everyone know that I am number 31, backorder for the LS7 crate engine. From what I have been told, the crate motors could be out in a month, 3 months or maybe six months. Either way, I need time to get all the info I need for the swap. I do know, and have heard the same so far that, as long as I add all the smog of the Corvette I will be alright. I know somebody here has more info for me on engine swaps. I am putting this motor into a 1996 Chevt Tahoe. Anyone following the project, I'm thinking about an, Allison Transmission, and IRS
Kool swap. I have a 454 we can switch to fuel injection and I can easily get another 100 hp out of her with a bigger cam and 1.8 rockers. Be a bit heavier but I can save you about 5 grand or more.

The 80E bolts on although you might want to beef her up a little. Stick a GearVendor on the back and really get interesting.

Yeah, the 6L80E will have two overdrive ratios to improve fuel mileage. The six speed manual transmission has two overdrives, also.

I cant wait to see a LS7 swap done. that new auto tranny looks good too. I'm wondering if it will be the exact same form-factor as the 4l60e so we wouldnt have to switch anything out as far as driveshafts and transfer cases. My bet though it that it might be a tad bit longer.

From what I know, the motor is on the way. I think this is impossible, I must still be on a waiting list. I ordered the motor from a dealership in Arkansas, who told me I was number 31 on the crate engine list. The very next day the dealer called me back and asked if I have the money. I said yes, and he told me that moved me to number 11. The day after that, once again the dealer called and said he had found one and it is on the way. I still can't belive its coming. However this was over a week ago and I have heard nothing sence. I wll keep everyone posted when I find out new info. For anyone who wants to see the project log onto

Man you sure do like those escalade conversions. I want to do a 99-00 style on my 96 Yukon.
