Thread: ls3 4l80e swap , about to begin

    The engine controller is separate from the tcm. Simply flash a tcm with a 80e flash and run the CAN lines and trans wires. The trailblazer OS has nothing to do with it working. That's the engine side.
    We've done a few a few LS3 engine harnesses with the 80e behind it. It'll work.
    I need to know the specifics on what u have but it sounds like it shouldn't be a problem.

    so I've been making some progress , while working on my truck harness i cut by mistake the a/c high pressure cut out switch plug, ( the 1 that goes to the sensor on top of a/c line) its this necessary to have.

    i got it figured out guys, what starter should i need with 4l80e trans, flexplate and spacer?

    any Gen3 starter should work.

    so here's a little update. im 99% finish with the swap i was ready to fired up on friday but one of the pw steering fitting i had received earlier on the day was leaking. so for now i have to wait until next week for another to arrive , i just got to installing my dbw pedal today and just need to do a notch to the trans crossmember for the driver side exhaust.
    n that should be it for things left to do to get it running

    i had to relocate the battery to the driver side , im using a nbs cold air intake just had the mass airflow mounting boss welded in

    even with the lsx block being iron the truck is sitting about 1" 1/2 higher than before
