I've always been skeptical on 10's like will they give me super hard hitting kick I want or not. I want to do this right th first time. I don't want to get 10's and they suck. But if there's a set that will giv me what I'm looking for then I'll give 10's a try. I've always had 12's, 15's or 18's in the past

find someone with a probox near you and listen, it will smack you so hard you will pull the cash out and buy it off them. i hit 137.5 on my dash for a solid 2 years, i loved it but wanted legroom more than bass(i'm a bigger guy), but any properly setup ported system will work.

It all depends on the factors; airspace, port tune, tuning of the amp, the vehicle they are going in, headunit, subs and amp. I installed a w1 13 in a ported box with a tma 300.1 that was equally as loud and hard hitting as my bandpass bedcut with 2 Rockford p2 12's on a Rockford t500.1. My diamond d3 10's in a prefab downfire are awfully close to the volume of the bedcut but the depth isn't quite there. However, some of the people that have heard the truck are surprised that they are 10's. You probably won't be satisfied with two sealed 10's and you definitely wouldn't be satisfied with one 10 ported. I think your best bet, if you are wanting the 12" sound, is to go with a single 13 in a ported box like mentioned earlier.

I like my pioneer TSW-3001's. Shallow mounts and sound good. I play mostly metal too and they are very clear.

    I hit 153.8 on my dash with a single 9512... =)

My next setup will be two 8s. Yes I said it. TWO 8" 1508s. Probably in a very small ported enclosure under or behind the rear seat in my crew cab. I bet you money it surprises people.

It was "A" regular cab truck. It was a 1969 Chevy c/10. It was built as a center console (I know that isn't legal in comps). I only have a picture of the LOUD box, not the fiberglass one.

This particular box's specs were 3.2ft^3 @ 48 hz. This was the box that metered 153.8. The daily box was a 2.5ft^2 @ 32 hz.

JL is the only way to go if you want to empty your wallet on something that isn't as good as other stuff for less money.

I want to see you pick ANY JL sub and run 2900 watts daily on it like I did my DD9512.... for three years.
