Not to sure about lower compression ratio motors, I think both the 650 and 700 hp motors are 12 to 1 , Reading shafiroff's specs on the motor it says it can be ran on normal pump fuel.

After a bit of emailing to shafiroff and mast motosport I have been told that the engine can be fitted with the stock ls1 (98 up) wiring loom, i will just need to specify this before they build the engine as they will need to re locate the knock sensors to the original postions so that is the route i will go down, I will also try to buy the motor without a wiring loom and ecu if possible as i plan to use the wiring loom and ecu out of our holden commodores (factory fitted with ls1 ect...) This will make it easier as if i ever have a electrical fault i can take it to a holden dealership and they with be able to hook it up to there computers. Also the aussie version of the ls1 wiring is slightly different to the usa version to suit our australian standards ect.... Plan is to have the engine mid next year. At the moment priorities are having the chassis done ie four link, air management ect... completed. Cant wait though i think it will be an absolute animal and should have no trouble frying the 295 22" tires!!
