With the exception that the 65E has a 5th planetary gear and corvette servos. But don't think I'm gonna go w/that one that I found since after my posting I found out from the seller that its an awd version and I dont want to have to change it up.

yep, the additional planetaries don't affect the hookup or wiring so didn't figure it was worth mentioning.

true, but makes it better than the 60E
another question though... will the 70E mate up to the wiring and be easy to swap in?

I'm almost 100% positive it doesn't, there's a site called Welcome to Street & Peformance and they make flex plate adapters just for my application. I'm gonna call them tomorrow and get a parts list of everything I'll need for the swap.

Haha, I called that HotRodLane company that did the '96 Tahoe with a 5.3 build and talked to a tech and he said I will need a flat flex plate kit that comes with spacers and bolts for $246 that will bolt up to my current 4L60E, he said he did the same swap on his wifes Tahoe...good guys to talk to.

But I priced everything I need out, including engine and if I got a 5.3 and put that 212/218 it's right at $2000 or if I did a 6.0 w/o cam it's right at the same price.

well in that case I would get the 6.0, assuming it has reasonable miles on it.

The adapter to put the Gen1 transmission into the Gen3 engine is not that expensive, its hotrodlane's markup that makes it pricey. The spacer, bolts and flexplated needed is available through any GM dealership/supplier.
