U can check the temp of the exhaust before and after the cat with a temp gun, if the exhaust is hotter before the cat than it is after that would be a good sign of a clog. And not by a couple of degrees but a noticable difference obviously lol.

Your post above is what worries me. That is a clear sign of effed up cats. Having an exhaust pipe break off from the muffler will not cause the lethargic performance like you are describing.

Well for the cat u could still do the temp gun trick. How long has it been since a tune-up? Are those the original o2 sensors? Pull one of the plugs and check the condition. If its been awhile since ur last tune-up now would be a good time for one. But with the symptoms ur were describing last nite i dont think it would be that. Bad plugs and wires would be more like a hesitation and stumbling, not really a loss of power.

alright im taking my truck over to my dads saturday and putting it on the hoist.im going to do the temp check on each down pipe and see what its doing.also my buddy told me to try two things also,he said drill 1/8 hole before and after the cats and check the vacuum difference between the two.and also pull out the o2 sensor before the cat and that will releive a little bit of the pressure and the idle should change alittle.one question i have is will leaving out the rear o2's hurt anything,i dont want to replace the cats since im getting lt's and ory when it warms up.

It's a long shot, but try cleaning the MAF. Mine did the same thing and after every other thing I tried, the maf fixed it all. No cel for it or anything.

so i finally had a chance to work on my truck and the problem is still there. so far i have replaced plugs and plug wires, cleaned tb and maf and filter, replaced front 02 sensors(have some good ones laying aroun so gave it a shot).ive been getting random/multiple misfires, bank 1 lean and a maf code.i have looked every with a stethascope for vacuum leaks.im stumped and hate to take it to a stealership.
