Got the engine and tranny out yesterday. I cant' believe how easy it was to remove them both. Just four bolts and it was out. I went ahead and power washed the front end in preparation for the POR-15 treament. I plan on removing the cab and bed as well so I can get the whole frame treated.

I've heard that a '73-'87 front end will bolt right up to a '64. Is this true and what kind of benefits would I gain? I would like to have power steering as well as front disk brakes.

Thanks for all of the encouragement. Looking forward to when I can finally get him on the road.

    Before I removed the engine.

Only four bolts to get both the engine and tranny out. I plan on using the 283 for a future rat rod project.

Close up of engine bay after power washing.

After a good Gunk spray down and power wash.

Two of my three toys. My other one is my '91 Camaro.

Even talked the wife into posing for me.
