v there is an auto salvage place up here in denton with a couple tahoes that have hydroboost in them. if you want to get the parts ill help with the swap. one of the best mods i've done to my truck. you need the booster, powersteering pump, lines, brake pedal, and i know how to get around the code that is thrown from the booster not being plugged in. the mastercylinders are the same so you don't have to let air in the system

Boost would decrease the brake assist only if the check valve is bad. Those SBA pumps were usually only put on 2004's but must have been used on some 03's too. The electric pump adds vacuum assist for low vacuum situations (like towing). It was supposed to be a cheaper and less complex than hydraboost but doesn't really do more than regular vacuum assist as the pump isn't very strong.

I'm not sure I quite understand what you're trying though V. Just using no assist at all or removing just the pump? I would do neither for safety but I'm old.

If you switch, all you need is the hydroboost unit itself two lines and a barbed tee....you don't need the pedal or pump....I've done a handful of these on various years and it all works just fine..
