BUt it is safe to drive? Ive noticed that it will stay locked as long as I keep the gas steady about 65. LoL
r u sure its locking and unlocking and its not just the stator locking from the converter because mine does the same thing but mine has a fairly loose stator

the stator is what decides how your stall comes on if u have a loose stator it will be real easy to get up to the stall point. like a holeshot converter is really loose up to the stall point then once it hit the stall its like popping the clutch in a manual trans. If it has a tight stator its going to almost want to push the car before it gets to the stall. also if your stator is loose it will want to try to engage and disengage when the motor is right around the stall point. Like mine is a 2600 and at 65-70 mph its turning about 2400-2500 rpm so it essentially thinks that i am trying to brake stall it so its engaging then once it get below the stall point it disegages
