My vote is the burping procedure or sensor.
    Gone, but not forgotten!

Well looks like the problem may be solved. Some of the wiring to the fans was corroded. Cut them down some, put on new connectors, and on the way home, temps stayed at 185 (with heater on high just in case). In town they went up to 190. Stopped and grabbed lunch and turned the air on and it went up to 200 and stayed there. So I guess it was corroded wiring and resulting low fan speed. Going to upgrade to 05 fans though and help it out more. These fans are great - just not for the turbo and underhood temps.

congrats thatll do it,lol.fyi ,my fans are 05 duramax fans ,i pd $700 for them and my temps stay the same as yours.when yours are working.im just saying i dont think new fans will justify that much of an improvement in temps.what are your iats at under the hood with that turbo?mine never go over 110,on a hot day.just curious what that big turbo puts out for heat.

My IAT's stay really low. When it was around 100 out they were at like 104 - 108 depending on speed.

Yeah - the wiring never occurred to me that that could be the problem. But it makes total sense. If it's getting low voltage, they woudn't run as strong.

The hotpipes are from KB Racing. I need to work on footbraking it. HAd to borrow a gauge before and it was dark so couldn't see it lol.

And yeah ramsey - the IAT's surprise me too. I guess it's the intercooler design or something. It just stays really cool.
