If you're going to tap the head then there is no need for an adapter, just tap it the same size as the water temp sensor. The adapter was so that you didnt have to drill the head, which is no problem either unless you make the tapped hole too large.

oh no kidding... hmm maybe ill just buy the adapter and not tap the head at all. that would be nice. i jsut went outside adn took some pics ill post up what i think it is. you lemme know. thanks..

thats for the computer, but if u can tap the head for free u will save the 20. dollars for other parts

I cant find anywhere that shows more than one sensor for the water temp in a 98 model truck so that has to be it. It has two pins in it, correct?

on my 98 has two sensors the gauge is a one wire

Hey if you decide to go with the s&p adapters I will sell you the two that I have. I went with Autometer gauges and don't need the adapters anymore.
