I should have my scantool in 3 days or less. I'll let you guys know how good it works.
    I bought it at:
    http://www.scantool.net

I haven't had a chance to check on the pins yet, I will do so tomorrow. Can you buy them from the dealer? I'll check on that tomorrow also.

I have been eyeballing LS1EDIT today, thinking about buying it. They offer a 100.00 discount if you fill out a questionaire, so it would cost 450.00 for a single PCM, kind of expensive, but got to have it.

I have a simple actron scanner already, all it does it show trouble codes, no engine sensor data.

I've only done a few pcms for oscar and i can tell you all i've done is remove vats on the ones he sent me.

if you have a dynatech pcm that was "tuned" send me your vin and i'll compare it to what i have, and if i've done that one, i'm offering updates to the pcm for free.
I've only done 5 for him, so the odds are slim but if i do have your file i'll take care of you.

    thanks,

    allen

Allen, I cannot give you the vin since it was from a donor vehicle. When I send you the core you should be able to scan it and see if it's one you did for Oscar. It would have been done between late June and November 2003. The number on the sticker on the PCM says *86DFFY9212078VPV* if that helps. Delphi Automotive Systems Service No. 12200411.

    Honkydaddy:

I do have the round pins, and I have been reading the service manual and talking with a transmission friend of mine who is pretty experienced. He says that I do need to have the input shaft speed sensor hooked up to the PCM so that it knows what gear it is in.

If I could buy some pins from you I would greatly appreciate it.

My scantool should come in on Wednesday, I'll let you know how it works.

I don"t think that this scantool will do enough for me. Do you know of a scan tool that will actually tell the PCM to do certain functions, like activate solenoids?

Now you're talking about some money

Just for your ride or all rides.

Just my ride and PC interface, unless I can get more out of a handheld. This is new territory for me, I've got the TPI and TBI stuff down pat. Now it's time to ride with the big boys.

    Sounds like you want Edit.
I'd send Allen a PM and ask him about that,or Bandit.

I'm saving my pennies to get it for mine.

Think it's around $500 not positive of that.
