Dude the verter is sick. It puts the engine right in the meat of the powerband! It was the perfect stall.

The crank and rods are eagle forged pieces (4in stroke crank) I can get more info if you really want. pistons were mahle 3.905" bore units.

I've got 650 miles on it and man is it fun. Its getting dyno tuned after my 1000 mile oil change.

    But...

I think at the end of the summer I am gonna put more cam into it and do the pacesetters with ORY.

I caught the performance bug after driving this thing for two weeks, its too damn fun.

    So a few questions...

    TR230/236 cam (230/236 .592/.602 112LSA) Might get it with 114 LSA

can i still use my comp 918 springs and ls7 lifters?

do you think I can still drive it with the TB stall?

    Thanks Guys!
    Ty

I figured that might be the case. How big of a stall? keeping in mind its a 383.

    maybe like a circle d 2600-2800 or a 3000-3200? or another brand?

I would get atleast a 3000. I drove my truck daily with a 3800 for 6 months and it had good street manners

Well I have an update after putting 1500 miles on it.

The new engine runs good. But it seems to lack some of the low end grunt that I want. It takes a bit of RPM and throttle to get it moving. And seems to always need a lot of throttle to keep it moving up hills. It seems that it sometimes has trouble getting into OD while cruising. Is this a product of my cam, torque converter, gears, maybe all three? It is fast from 3k RPM and up.

    5500 lb ECSB truck
    4wd
32 or 33in tall tires on 18 wheels
    383 cubic inch
    3.73 gears
    220/220 .556/.556 114lsa
4L60E running a shift kit & Trailblazer I-6 Torque Converter
    3.73 gears

    what do you guys think?

My first guess would be you need more stall.

Well I have the same cam as you and I have a 2800rpm stall and I think it could use more. Maybe 3200..
