To get the clutch fan off, go ahead and mount all the accessories including water pump. Put the belt on and it will hold the pulley in place. Either use an air chisel to shock the nut or put a wrench on it and shock it with a hammer. Usually come off pretty easy then.

I am sure DBRODS can build you a set cheaper than that, and they will look better.

Build is looking nice. I am happy to see other people like to clean and paint things under the hood...

Also you can just go to your local O'Reilly Auto, and rent out their tool set. It has the correct wrench size to fit on the clutch fan. Just hit it with a hammer and it will come off very easy.

Awesome build thread, good job man. I am getting ready to tackle the LM7 swap with my 1994 silverado and plan on doing it all myself like you are doing. I found this video to do the harness myself, I hope it works.

thanks! yea i like under the hood to look somewhat decent. i plan on ordering a new master cylinder and coolant tank as well. i think it just makes the whole thing come together really nice when you pop the hood and theres a new motor in there all cleaned up and the engine bay matches. plus i had to do something with all the downtime.

thanks i appreciate it. i wish i could read other threads on here as detailed as mine. so i figured id lead by example. i try to update it daily with pics and stuff to keep you guys interested and the advice is A1. yea i pretty much finished my harness now. i connected the fuse box and relays i just gotta finish wrapping it in heat insulation and test it out. amazingly it wasnt that difficult. pretty straight forward but it takes forever. i been working on it maybe 12 hours combined. that's from pulling it off the engine til now. ill check the video out later. stupid work computer has a block on YouTube lol..and IMO doing all the work yourself iis the way to go. my last motor was a 385 stroker that i paid people to install and all that but i didnt apprciate it as much. ended up selling the stroker 4 months later. so far for this build i have done EVERYTHING myself. from picking the motor to removing the old one to dropping i the new one. im hoping i can get everything done get it fired up in my backyard and then the last thing will be tow it to the muffler place and have then run the duals. good luck with your build!

ok so got back out there and did some more work to the truck today. finsihed up the interior. re installed the front seats and all the plastics. im going to do the cargo area carpet later because i still have parts and stuff back there and i dont want it to mess up the new carpet.

came out great. definatly one of my fav mods ive done to the truck so far. interior looks way better.
i decided to start mocking up the accessories on the motor to make sure i had all the parts and make sure everything fit.

also put back on the core support for now to check clearance and stuff

The red bowtie looks really badass too! i love it!!

so i have a few questions however...when i was taking off the old harness i broke this thing on the trans...what is it???

    it came from here

also when i was hooking up my hoses for the heater core i found this from the old motor...what is it and do i need it with the new motor?

also when i was removing the trans i found this little rubber o ring on the ground...not sure if it came from the motor or what..any ideas? (spark plug for size reference)

heres how far i still have to push the motor back...almost there..

    Headers mounted and fit perfectly
