4L80e swap, something is wrong, need help.

Hi guys, I just took out the 4l60e in my 2003 chev 1500 and put in a 4l80e that came out of a 2003 Savanna van. The trans had 53k and was tested good. The trans shifts hard into reverse but drives fine in reverse. In drive it seems like its in 2nd gear when I take off from a start or its slipping but feels like its in a much taller gear then first, something is definitely wrong...? When in any forward gear the truck does not move forward with out allot of throttle. I put in a Transgo hd shift kit and I'm pretty confident I did it correctly. I ran the front vss sensor wires up to the computer and installed the wires correctly into the green connector. The trans is full of fluid and I installed all the 4l80e specs from a 04 2500 into my tune.
I'm not sure where to start looking? Any help is greatly appreciated as I need the truck working for work on Thursday.

You need a system patch for the 80e. You can't just copy the files...

Like jon said u can't copy the calibration info.
Use two more credits and perform a Write Entire using the 80e file onto ur 60e PCM.
This way u know for sure it's done correctly.
U can also do a write calibration over ur 60e using an 80e.

The PCM is starting out in second probably due to an incorrect cal or wiring.
    Check the codes as well.

    Good luck

That would make sense as my mechanical skills are better then my computer skills, LOL! Yeah I simply copied all the 4l80e files and put them into my 4l60e tune and this obviously does not work. So I just need a patch ? I'm using EFI live to tune. Thanks.

Once you get the tuning figured get used to long shifts, my 80 goes to 45 in 1st and almost 90 in 2nd and that's with 410 gears.

From what I read I should have done a full segment swap on the transmission part of the tune. So that is what I just did and now it shows my trucks tune as having a 4l80e. Hope this works, I'll post what happens later on today.
Yeah, its going to have some long shifts for sure, my truck has 3.42 gears and 29.5in tall tires. First gear should be good for about 60mph and 2nd will go until 100mph, its going to be like running a powerglide. The plan is to put on a turbo soon and I dont think the tall gearing will hurt it much then.

It should work with the segment swap... Sounds like my gearing with a 30" tire. 62mph, 102mph, and 162mph.

Well that did the trick, the trans shifts really well, spins the tires on the 1st to 2nd shift right at 60mph. The only problem is to make it shift from 1st to 2nd at wot I need to manually shift it. If I leave the lever in 3rd or OD it just holds 1st and wont shift out? I have the shift mph set a few less then desired and the shift point at 6,000 , it worked well with the 4l60e tuned like this.
