    '91 s10 short box 2wd with carb'd 6.0

Hey guys brand new here thought i would share my build info with you guys. I put a carb'd 6.0 with L92 heads and a comp cam in my '91 s10. It started as a low mileage junk yard shortblock. I put in a XR281HR comp cam,ARP rod bolts,ARP head bolts, HD LS3 timing chain and some Pac 1218 beehives. Then topped it off with an L92 Victor Jr. intake and a Proform 750 DP. The trans is a th350 with a 3400 stall and the rear end is a disc brake ford 8.8 with 373 gears and a posi. It puts out about 550 crank shaft HP. The truck will smolder the tires off at freeway speeds. This thing is fun!

Pretty cool looking. Sounds like a sweet combination of quality parts. Have you had a chance to put it on a dyno yet?

No dyno time yet. I built the motor part for part from a carcraft write-up and they dynoed it at 551hp at 6700rpms.

what are you using to control timing/spark?

Hi. The build looks real nice... im in the middle of one my self and was wondering what you used as a fuel pump... i hear lots of guys talk about fuel when they are going fuel injected with thease motors in older trucks but no one talks about it with the carb builds. im putting my bored out 6.0 into a 78 blazer and it had the fuel pump bolted to the side of the engine block... so i have lots of options. i was realy looking to find an intake that would support dual 4bbl carbs... i have a feeling that 1300 CFM of carb on top of a bored out 6.0 would be mean on a mud truck... HAHAHA i havent purchased heads yet because i havent found the intake i want... once i find the intake i will get heads to match. sceems backwards but its what i can come up with on the cold winter nights here in Alaska.

I am using an aeromotive 140 electric pump. I did have a holley "red" pump before this pump.

Edelbrock makes a dual quad intake for the Gen3 heads. Look them up on www.edelbrock.com or www.summitracing.com.
