2004 silverdo 2500 HD question about fuel rails and steering column

    Hi,
I have a 2004 Silverado 2500HD with the 6.0, and my first question is can you change just the crossover pipe connecting the two fuel rails? or must you leave it connected and change with rails?

Second, I have that steering knock and I changed the I-shaft with the borgenson piece but I still have the knock. I noticed where the I-shaft mates with the column there is a white plastic insert and I grab the shaft and the play knocks into this piece. Any suggestions how to stop the movement between these pieces or an upgrade?

Thank you for any and all help.
    Dan

Either question answered would be okay.

Add aluminum fuel rails with a larger diameter crossover tube. I've never faced the knocking steering shaft issue.

you may be able to tap the holes where the crossover tube is with NPT pipe fitting threads and put a larger diameter fitting in place to run fuel to the other side.

That white plastic insert comes out with a pry with a screw driver. It only has two tabs that keep it in place. Take the borgensen bolt out to drop it out of the way. I wrapped two layers of electrician tape around the end that sticks out. There are small plastic ribs that wear out to keep it tight. The tape makes it tight again, no more knocks.
