    Need some help

    I found a used rear end for sale and all they guy gave me for info is that it is out of an 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 Gear Ratio is 3.73 GT4. Is this good or bad. will it stand up to some good abuse.

    also would this be any better than a stock 99 rear diff in my Z71. with a g80.

    Its no different than what you have other than maybe the gear ratio. Why not just upgrade to a tru trac and be done. THey will take plenty of abuse.

    I know i was just seeing if it was worth getting or not. I will order the tru track next weekend that seems to be the best option thanks for the help.

    What gear ratio u running. Going with a 4.10 will wake ur truck up.

    I am running all stock right now. what will the 4.10 do for me in terms of speed and also mileage.

    IM guessing you have 3.42s. You will get better mileage in town and either equal or slightly less on the highway but you will notice a nice difference in power range. well worth it while ur in there changing to a tru trac anyways.

    i know i have asked you before, but where can i get this stuff for the best price. the tru trac and the 4.10 gears. and whats involved in changing from the stock to the 4.10s, do i need special tools, or should i have a shop do it.

    ROns machining. Hes a member and site sponser on here. 575 gets you gears, tru trac, and install kit shipped to your door. I would have a shop do it if you have never messed with rear ends before.

    I just noticed you had a z71 so you probably have 3.73 gears already. So you might as well just get the tru trac. And that you can install yourself because you dont need to set back lash and all that fun stuff.
