    Thinking about custom grind 222/224?

So I'm going to use tax returns this year for a new cam and springs. I've been really set on the tsp220R..but I was curious how a 222/224 .581/.581 112 LSA with 110 ICL with the XER lobes would be in this pig. I got the circle-d 278mm converter already in the truck...so I need a cam that'll work good with that. Just give me your opinions, thanks guys.

Hmmmm....yeah, that will work pretty well. A little more duration and the same lift. If there is a big price difference, then I wouldn't worry about the custom grind--it isn't worth the extra $$$ cause you honestly won't be able to notice the difference in power, if there is any. If you are gunna go with a custom grind--why not make it worth the time and money?

As a reference (and with your truck and it's mods) I would go with a high 22X duration and keep the lift in the .58X range.

    Maybe something like a 226/230 .585/.588 112 LSA (109 ICL).

That cam would probably be crazy! if I had a slightly bigger stall I'd try it, I'm probably sounding like a little girl haha...I don't want to lose all my low end is the only thing. Thanks though tyler I think you just picked my cam for down the road when I build a 6.0!

if you are gonna do a custom grind cam let someone that picks out cam for a living do it for you. Pat G on ls1tech does it for 25.00.

PROBABLY be crazy??? It would work well for you! I installed a cam very close to that in Garrisson's truck (224/230 .581/.588 112 LSA) and he was running a 3000 stall at the time and it ran excellent. He laid down 345 RWHP (~420 hp at the motor) on a mail order tune and clocked a 13.7 1/4 mile time I think. He didn't have any issues down low. And he had the same mods as you. So.... Quit being a Nancy! Go big or GO HOME!
