I doubt it will hurt anything.

Yes and no. Dexron VI is a synthetic version of Dexron III. Dexron VI was specifically formulated for the 6L80E transmission, which doesn't use floater plates between linings.correct me if im wrong, but i though 5 and 6 were just synthetics of 3
There is no Dexron V. If there's a V on the bottle he used, it's probably Mercon V, which is formulated for Ford transmissions.

hell i have seen race cars use 0-20w mobil 1 engine oil as trans fluid, and they were 9 second cars iirc
