so i was putting trans fluid in my truck(04chevy silv) when i noticed after about 3/4 quart it was the dex 5 and not the dex 6, will it harm anything, should i drain and refill

Yes and no. Dexron VI is a synthetic version of Dexron III. Dexron VI was specifically formulated for the 6L80E transmission, which doesn't use floater plates between linings.
There is no Dexron V. If there's a V on the bottle he used, it's probably Mercon V, which is formulated for Ford transmissions.
hell i have seen race cars use 0-20w mobil 1 engine oil as trans fluid, and they were 9 second cars iirc
