    2nd blown tranny

Ok,l i (had) a 4l60e that i just recently blew. im trying to decide if i should buy a new 4l60e from gear works thats built for 500 horse with a 3200 stall in it or just have mine rebuilt for racing but.. in a few months im putting a 6.0 in it so i was wondering what would be the best way to go Built 4l60e or stock 4l80e... will the built 4l60e hold up on the 6.0
    Thanks

gm sold them together from the factory that way, but when you start making horsepower they tend to be the weaklink in your setup. i would say this is the time to swith them out. it all depends on your driving style.

Get the 80e. GM knows the 60e is weak and even puts the 80e behind 4.8L engines in work vans.

My built 65e is doing great behind a cammed and boosted 5.3 i guess it's the luck of the draw.
    Name: Mark,
God created turbo lag so nitrous trucks could have a chance.

Its actually not that bad. Click here.

All you need to do is change some PINs around in the passenger side circle connector and add an extra VSS (ISS) wire to the PCM.

Dont waist your time. just upgrade to 80e now, and save your self the headache of blowing a built 60e.
