Thread: 65 Chevy truck with 02 5.3/4l60e

    UPdate! 65 Chevy truck with 02 5.3/4l60e

I need some help guys. I am trying to put this dude in my truck and I got the stock mounts to work with the LS adapter. the problem I have is clearance for the e-manifolds. Stock wont fit, F/body doesnt work, except for the D/S fits like a glove. The Pass side doesnt. I really dont have the tools or ability to start cutting frame and all so making mounts arent a possibility. I bought some Sanderson Headers and they wont fit cuz the stock mounts.

I also need to know if I will need a fuel regulator on this.

    Thanks in advance,

    Clyde

might possible check street and performance or doug thorley I know they make headers for 67-72. Same problem in most older trucks with the fitment on the passenger side..... check those guys out and also hooker headers. I would think that someone has a set to fit.

If you have a feed and return line, you will not need an external regulator. It is in the rail. Just run a feed line and a return line.

If you only had 1 line at the rail, then you would need an external regulator.

    fuel reg

Thanks dude, I thought that might be the case, but wanted to make sure.

This weekend I am changing motor mounts again. I am going with the POL tube ones, I will have to clearance the top frame rails a little, but my friends 72 is done that way so I will use his as a pattern.

I finally got the engine and headers to fit properly, this weekend was a barn burner for getting stuff done, I have almost all wiring hooked up, transmission all don, fuel pump hooked up and grounded, Hopefully I will have it running in a week or two.

Hey, I never noticed you were on the 67-72 board as well. Take a look at my build thread there if you run into any problems. It's in the 73-87 projects section, and the engine swap starts on page 18. We covered a TON of stuff in that thread, and solved a few issues before they ever came up!

Good luck with it! PM me over on the 67-72 board if you need any help with anything, same name as here.

Thanks and good to hear from you, I will check your thread out. BTW, In 1985, I ordered and purchased a new 1985 GMC Siera Classic SWB truck. It was my first new vehicle. Man I loved that truck. Anyway I thought that was cool you working on the same year and model I had back in the ice age.
