new thats why i'm in the newbie check in.

Hello everyone. First off thank you for allowing me the amazing honor of becoming a member of this amazing forum. I'm a new owner of a 2002 silv 4.3 with a five speed manual. I have had it for six weeks and already looking at what i can do to make it fast. I will be posting in which ever area i need to for a question concerning my truck. I looked over some of the post and i am not sure of the exact info about my truck. As in the codes that are used to further describe parts of the truck. so if someone could help me with that so i will be able to read the post and know whats compatible with my truck.

I am considering swap of some kind. and would love to stay with a manual trans. any help or suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks
    James

Welcome! Yeah there isnt really much to do to make your 4.3 fast. Looks like a 5.3 or 6.0 is in your future.

yeah, you are wasting good money if you are putting anything on a V6. take the money you could spend on the V6 and put it towards a V8. Its like I had said in a different post: you can spend all day polishing a turd but at the end of the day, it's still a turd. you can usually find a good low mileage 5.3 for around 600 or so at a junk yard. that's close to what you will pay for intake and exhaust on the V6.

welcome, the manual will be your weak link.... Should hold a mild 4.8 or 5.3 for a while. I have another manual tranny if you end up needing one.... have fun.

The best advice I have ever heard:... Only take B( . Y . )ST advice from someone that is CURRENTLY running a turbo setup close to, or bigger than what you want......
