I need help, I received my LT1 E. Fans yesterday and need help on how to mount them to the radiator. It also didn't come with any connectors to control the fans and I need help on where to get them.

Oh, and they are a bit dirty would it be okay to wash them.

I looked on FSC.com for some help, but couldn't find any. A lot of people said that the fans from the LT1s and LS1s didn't cool very well as apposed to the stock fan, I don't see how considering they were cooling a bigger engine in a more confined space. Oh well

Please help want to get them installed this weekend if possible.

    Thanks,
    R.

I wash my engine bay all the time, spray em down and get'em clean, i don't think you'll hurt anything.

Those fans cool very good, i can run the shit out of my truck at the track, just keep hot lapping it, and the temp will never get over 180deg. it can also idle forever and never gets hot, i really like the ls1/lt1 fans.

will your stock shroud fit over the lt1 fans shroud, my setup is completely different than yours, maybe cut the stock shroud and lay it ontop of the lt1 fans, i know some guys just find a good place to but small screws or bolts and just screw them into wherever there's metal, like the radiator support.

kevin mounted his, maybe he'll chime in and let you know how he did it,

don't you know you can't find any technical answers over at that other forum, lol, jk

    good luck,

I don't know about your fan. My 99 don't not have the rad. that Flexilite say it should have. I had to buy another. You can buy a controller for them I would think at a local parts house. My fan is mounted with push thought tie straps on the top and has brackets on the bottom. I can get pictures of it tonight if you want.

Your more than welcome to swing by and check mine out. I mounted mine to the rad. using those ties that are used for a tranny cooler. Thats not the best way to do it but very easy. I'll end up making some brackets for it. I had to ditch the shroud altogother but it cleans up the bay very nicely.

What time are you available, I may swing by this weekend or next week. I don't start work until the 22nd, and I want to get them installed before then.

    Thanks,

I haven't finished them yet but my fans fit just inside my stock fan shroud. I'm going to cut the stocker down and then mount the new fans to it with screws. Then it will bolt to the truck just like it did before.

I used a piece of Aluminum angle to make top and bottom brackets. A better way to mount them is to get a universal fan mounting kit (hayden I think make thems). I was thinking of making a bracket that would mount where the stock fan shroud mounts, but still haven't come up with a lower mount.

i'd be interested in seeing some pics. i think i saw a write up over in the FSC tech forums, but it may not be for LT1/LS1 fans. i think i may try some tie straps that come in the universal fan kits out there.

    lets see some
