    What kind of numbers on this combo?

    Hey guys just wondering what you think about this combo:

    Engine
    -LS3 (out of a 2010 Camaro) doing a very small bore on it
    -Not sure about pistons yet (9.5:1 compression though)
    -leaving the crank and rods
    -ARP rod bolts
    -Alpermotorsports head studs

    Cam
    -Tu1.5 cam(Duration @.050 is 228/228, LIft is .571/.571, and is on a 112LSA.)
    -PAC1519 Spring, 7.40 Chromoly pushrods
    -Otherwise stock LS3 head

    Turbo(Denmah kit from VSracing)
    -GT 45 80mm turbo
    -3" intercooler 31*12*3
    -44mm WG
    -50mm BOV

    Fueling
    -Aeromotive A1000
    -FAST LS3 85lb/hr injectors
    -5/8" fuel lines etc

    Everything else will be pretty much stock LS3.


    And I'm wondering what you guys think/know about using a long runner intake manifold in a FI setup?

    Do you think 900HP is realistic or?

    You didn't mention heads, but if they are stock, then on 14psi or so, I'd say 700hp on an aggressive tune.
    That intake will work fine.

    I think 900hp is realistic, however, when ppl say "easily 1000hp" "should be no problem" etc etc, that's bs.
    It takes a good engine, good tuning, good parts for an engine to hold up to 900hp.
    Yes, any engine can probably make 900hp, but who wants a one hit wonder?

    If you're talking 900hp at the tire, it's gonna take some damn good timing, good amount of boost, and larger injectors imo.
    That a1000 will be just barely enough.
    Go overboard on the fuel system if you can; last thing you want is to see fuel pressure dropping after all the hard work.
    Correct plumbing of the fuel lines will be critical as well.

    ya ya, i know i'm gonna hear about so and so made this much.

    Don't forget the transmission; at this power level we have decided here that a th400 will be used.
    Unless you like replacing transmissions, which some customers do, no biggy.

    i know, so and so made a million hp and has an 80e lol.

    looks like a good build, keep us updated.

    wrong cam for LS3 heads

    ive used two of JFR cams for square ports

    218/224 570/575 112 the one combo made 1053 on 23 psi thru a Th400

    on 8 psi on mustang dyno combo made 530/640 thru th400

    JFR is stock48 on the boards
    2002 Lightning - GT headed 5.5Litre w/ Twin 7665s
    2002 Silverado - 427Lsx w/ Twin gt4202s
    2010 Silverado crewcab Z71 - 5.3litre w/ procharger
    2000 Wrangler - 5.3litre with some stance
    2014 Xsport- 3.5 Eco boost
    412 Motorsports

    Here's a cam we did for a 6.0L, LS3 heads, turbo

    had the gm performance ls3 heads, now has trickflow heads.

    just to give you a baseline or idea.

    231/231 .598”/.598” 113LSA +4 adv

    one in my silver truck is a 235/235 , more lift.

    both made 4850hp on e85, broke the engine dyno; why more left in it, sneeking up on the tune

    Thanks George, glad i havent bought the cam yet haha. I was also reading up on that mustang you built. I noticed that you torqued your head studs to 95ft*lb. Would I be ok torquing to the recommended 70ft*lb? Or do you think the head will lift?

    Farmtruc, that is simply a rediculous amount of power! You have a video of it?

    Now Im a bit confused as to which cam to use though lol.

    i'd get someone to spec you out a cam that has a good rep.
    That way there is no guessing and you're done; usually costs less than $40.

    i did have video... so it'll just be a talked about rumor, lol.

    going to recommended number should be fine for modest power but with those chinese studs you will never make it to 95ftlbs with a proper torque wrench..those chinese studs like to snap around 80, ive saw one break on way to 70ftlbs

    talk to the cam gurus and go from there

    Ya, ill just get the ARP's. Brother is building a 6.0l so he can use the alper head studs anyways.

    As for cam i will talk to stock48.


    I will update the progress of the engine as it goes along. Although the engine is going into a 63 Acadian lol.
