    will f-body lt headers work?

i've done some searching on here for lt headers for the obs to 6.0 swap. I've found, according to some members, that the ls truck headers will not fit and that even the stock manifolds wont fit with out notching the frame. I also found that some people use mid length headers from s&p or use the stock f-body manifolds to make the swap work. I was wondering since the f-body manifolds work has anyone tried the f-body lt headers to see if they might fit?

Street and Performance has a set of mid length headers that work great for the LSx engines in an OBS truck, 2wd. We haven't tried them on a 4x4 that I know of. The fbody LT headers will NOT work. NITROUS was the most recent member I can recall that used the S&P headers and he sent them back a few times until they got them bent correctly. They should have the data on file for the bends. Long tube headers are still not available. I had to build them myself and no manufacturer I emailed was willing to take my headers and digitise them into their system to replicate for future sales.

The fbody and truck stock manifolds work without any issues in a OBS truck. I did truck manifolds on my 92 and fbody on my 93 using the motor mount conversion similar to S&P type mounts. These are steel and available on Ebay for about $40.

thanks for the info. it really sucks there's no lt's for the obs swap. when I do the swap I wanna turn it into a n/a beast and S&P mids with there 1 5/8" primaries just kinda seems restrictive. I guess that's better than the stock manifolds though. lol

Do the 99 and newer shorties/mids work from either the f-body or the trucks?

That's a sweet link. He did an awesome job with that truck, but he's using stock manifolds. Does anyone know if aftermarket shorties or mids will work from f-body or newer truck?

not quite the same but I have a set of shorties in a 88 k5- pick ups changed in 88 but not k5. They are off of a 02 avalanche (sp) found them in a bone yard.
they fit the frame I had to heavily mod the factory y pipe. mostly cut it to pieces but I have a 4x4 and t case is on the right.
They are getting rusty and i want to change them to long tube but cant find any. I am sure that some have to fit. I started a thread looking for me in the mechanical section. How about a vett, or them down under guys. Maybe some holden headers will fit. I looked at altering a set of big block chevy headers, the spacing was a bit too far off. any body do a gasket match to a ford or dodge exhaust manifold, how far off are the centers?
