<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(RedHeartbeat @ Jun 9 2007, 11:10 AM) </div>It works! The 160* t-stat helps with temps, but I need to have the radiator flushed. With this stupid Louisiana heat + humidity, I've seen my temp gauge hit 210* after a few start/stop runs to the store. Cruising in today's 92* (53% Humidity), the temps are between 185* - 195* (depends on very long traffic lights). I'm happy for now. I'll get the rad flushed sometime next week.good luck. I hope it works out for you.

Red Eagles to be on order...
VacMod kit may be on order next month...
Looking for a new trans pan with removable drain plug...
Long story short, anything less than Red Eagle clutches will burn, drill out the input drum for better flow & drain of fluid for the clutches, and the vac mod kit helps by not totally relying on electronics to control pressure. Truck will be down for about a month (no EXTRA money). BTW... couldn't get better than 14.5 runs. I need a performance tune. Clearly, I don't know what I'm doing. :p

Oh no, not again
yup. decided to make a track appearance since Lance (bluecajun5.3) came over from Florida. sad part is, i knew something was wrong after a few passes. lucky for me, i know a few stand-up guys that don't mind helping out when necessary. C10 got a comfy ride on an expensive, all aluminum car hauler... towed by a Big Horn Ram. Got to my house, back the truck off, and drove it toward the back of the house. I'll pull the trans sometime next week.
Clutches ordered. I'll order the vac mod kit next week (short on EXTRA money til pay day).

JEG'S High Performance - 890-378000 TCI makes a nice pan, this is what I'm running.
Yeah... that looks good. I didn't order that exact one, but did get something nice lookin' & funtional:
I'm keepin' the stock pan for future uninstalls/installs of this trans. That's just too damn pretty to mess up with scratches. I'll take a side-by-side comparison pick that'll show the differences from stock when I have the trans down.

Wife's at work, I'm home with the boys, I have them taking naps, and got some time to myself...
Clearly a clearance problem. I am almost certain I followed ATSGs max gap spec of .085"! You won't believe what the gap actually was. I guess I should've gone tighter. Interesting.

Looks like an installation problem. Looks like when you inserted the mating parts that one clutch wasn't lined up properly. I may be way wrong though. Did it tear up the mating part?
I thought the same thing initially. Vince (@ FLT) confirmed it. I really need a shop, cuz doin this in the bed of my truck isn't cuttin' it. :p The clearance was still waaaaay off. Dunno how that happened, but no matter... what's done is done. I got something in the mail today. I will NOT mess these up.
Uh... question... where did ya drill that hole in the input drum for better fluid flow? Wanna knock that out while the drum's out.
