with the cost you will spend building a 408 you can just pill it up on a 370 and make up that extra 50 or so hp you will gain from a 408 and save a couple of grand

Thanks, sitting here thinking about it now with my kinda income. lol, I need to stay in a reachable goal and not take me 2 years to start making a 6.0L.

But i think i got some good news....I think i can have a rebuilt 6.0L fairly cheap... If i'm correct please let me know

I have a 5.3L that i got not to long ago it only had 25,000 miles on it before it was pulled. The rods and pistons are still in good condition.. Since thats the samething the Lq4 specs are.. then i can just slap everything internal in the 6.0L right??

white silvy, don't try to mix and match stock parts, it wont get you any gains. Would you be interested in selling the 5.3L short block you have?

I just read about the 5.3L have a dished piston and 6.0L have flat top... I'm not interested in selling the short block yet. sorry.

so which motor are you wanting to use? a 6.0L, or 5.3L? the two are not compatible. the only similarity is the crank. the rods/pistons will not switch out, and even if they did, why would you spend the time to just reuse stock parts?

because it would save money that i can put towards other mods.... and it would be running alot quicker with stock parts then my 4.8L i have in my truck .... Right now i dont know what route to go... considering i only have a 4l60E i probably should be leaning towards the 5.3L unless i can find a good deal on a tranny upgrade. But i know i can achieve a more easier quicker truck if i go with the 6.0L

thats what I am telling you, the 6.0L parts will not work in the 5.3L and vice-versa.

the internals won't work, just go get a 6.0 and parts for the 6.0

cheap and a 300 shot do not go hand in hand, spend the money on a well prepared engine. you'll be happy in the end when your not shattering parts all over the highway/track.
