Just curious if anyone has ever done a 4.3 V6 swap to an Ls1 on a newer 2000+ and if so was it a straight bolt in or was there a lot of customizing, fabrication, etc involved.. At this point I'm trying to determine what all I'd need to swap engines.. Will an Ls1 bolt right up to my tranny or is there a difference in the bellhousing between the 4.3 and the 5.7?

    Computer and wiring harness required?

Any and all info would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Are you looking to do this in a full size truck or an S-10?
It has all been done before yes. There would not be much fabrication in a full size truck since the LS1 style engine was available in that truck from the factory. If it's an S-10, that is a whole different story.
As far as the Transmission, I believe there is an adapter, but the flexplate and torque converter do not line up properly between the 4.3 tranny and an LS1 style tranny.

Again, depending on whether it is a full size, or an S-10, the wiring harness would either need to be grafted together between the truck and engine, slightly modified, or completely custom depending on your preference.
Computer would just need to be a modified '00 Silverado computer program.
