The L92 stuff wasn't available yet. I'll make you a good deal on a fresh 408 with Patriot 2.08/1.6 heads.

Or you could wait till the end of this month and buy the new LSX block that has a 4.25 inch bore and a 4.5 inch stroke. Then throw the l92 heads and l76 intake on that and have a 500+ CI motor that will bolt up to your current trani. But you would have to beef up your trani to support the 400+ horses.

I am getting a l80 deffinately, no matter what I do.
What's that supposed to run price wise. If it's not to expensive I could save for another month or two and be all motor and not ever even think about going fi. Would that be considered a big block, only with all small block connections to tranny and accessories.

Dimensionally it's still a small block. The bore spacing determines if it's a big block or small block.

they have said the street value for the lsx block to be around $2000-$2200. For what i have read you can use all your current accessories on your 5.3 and put it on this one. Here are some prices i have been able to determine. Block-$2200, Stroke crank with a 4.5 inch stroke to be around $800, L92 heads - $1200, L76 intake - $300. Pistons 4.250 - $400, Piston Rods - $300. Cam - $350. Push rods - $120. 90mm Throttle body - $400.

Total = $6070

That's not to bad of a price, and it would be a beast with all the torque it would make. I would probably have to get a bigger gass tank though. If I wait a little while I may just be able to swing that one. The block will be a little bit cheaper than $2200.Here's one I found.

I think a ls1 will be my best bet, because of price, and I am not trying to make a race truck. I am just trying to make my little truck really fun to drive , and have plenty of power to show off with.

Tell me what you think about this combo, this block, with this crank, these pistons, and these heads.

The pistons are negotiable, because of compression ratio(I have still not decided on fi), and I have no idea about a cam, because I don't have a clue about them. The heads just seem like a really good deal, that I found as I was looking around, and they seem to flow pretty well. I was hoping someone could give opinions on this stuff.

My mind is not set on anything, so I will definately take any opinions, because I know alot of you guys know more about this stuff than I ever will.

You'll need connecting rods, ARP bolts, main-rod-cam bearings, dogbone plug, freeze plugs and such... Contact Billy at TRTTurbo, he can get you a built 408 for what it will cost you for parts.

O.K. I talked to him, and he's seems to be a straight shooter. When I do this I will go with him, because he knows his stuff. Thanks for the help. Now I just need to know about the heads. Would the ones I linked earlier with the upgraded valves be good or should I go with something different.
