USE2BFO bought the GM harness, see his signature for PN. I don't worry about the lights dimming for a second. That doesn't keep my truck from running. The GM circuitry is designed to turn one fan on and then 5 seconds later turns the other one on.

No , no capacitor , just a extra relay used to trip the fans on high .
Red is right I would not worry much about lights dimming but I could feel the truck actually pull down while going down the highway from the 05 fans (34"rad) cycling , that was just a little to much draw and strain on the Alternator (145 amp) , but let me say this if they are the LS1 fans (27" Rad) , there probably would not be any problems .
The factory harness has 40 amp fuses and 50 amp relays and 10 amp fuse for trigger wires (pin42,33) no lights dimming no excessive draw , can't even tell when they come on (05 fans , 34" Rad).
Will post full spread of pictures so everyone can see , but might be a couple of days .
Forgot Red has a Classic 07 for reference , but mine (fans) cycles just as a 07 factory would .
Red the harness is for all forward lights and fans , ie.... fog , head , driving etc ....
Now what is a tune again?

So if mine is already set up for pin 42 to trigger through Allen's harness, will the factory harness be a plug-n-play?

Yeah, with the ls1 fans and a 145, the only time i know they come on is at an idle. i see a momentary voltage drop from ~14.5 down to about 13. i was thinking of installing a heavier ground wire for the alt to see if that helps. Didn't I see that mentioned in another thread somewhere?

Yeah Factory harness is plug and play , pricey though .
I did see someone comment on the fact that a heaver wire was needed but I checked an 05 1/2 ton with Factory fans (145 Amp) and the ground wire gage was the same as a no-fan truck (105 Amp) .
Now what is a tune again?

But do I need a different tune, or is the pin 42 that is already activated all I need? Sorry, just need a clarifiaction.
Thanks,

Not a complete re-tune just (pin 42 , 33) , your truck looks like a 05 , if you did not have fans from the factory then have someone turn on the fans .

I'd definitely suggest getting a tune before messing around with fans.

That's like putting the carriage before the horse.

I guess I took a stupid pill this morning, because I am not following this.

My truck is an '04, with '05 fans. The truck didn't come with the efans.

I have a tune from Allen now, and pin 42 is active I believe (the only way for the efans to work I think). Now I don't know about pin 33. I am guessing that I have the correct tune already in place?

Sorry for my ignorance, and for the .

You might ask Allen if he did the fans as Series Parallel and enabled both sets , Fan 1 and Fan2 .
Fan 1 and Fan 2 are the same as pin42 and pin33 .
Hope this helps .
