Thread: 6.0 cast iron in my 2000?

    Ran across a complete 6.0 lq motor. CAst iron block. Would that with a good cam and head work be better than my 5.3l with milled LS1 heads? gotta do something, really not happy with mine the way it is, and I know some of you guys have done the 6.0 swaps.
    2000scsb silverado, '02 5.3L with Comp Cams custom ground LS1 cam 222/224 112lsa +2deg. 581/581 , '01 LS1 heads decked 0.010" ported, Comp beehive valvesprings, pushrods, shims, pace setter longtubes, no cats, Nelson tuned. AuburnGear Pro series LSD, 4L60E built with 2k rpm stall, corvette servos and raybestos clutches..... Fun enough...... for now

    As they say, there is no replacement for displacement. Except for forced induction or NOS.

    I love the way you think. what bought with a texas speed 228R cam and my decked LS1 heads?

    Sorry, I didn't understand what you're asking.

    Are you asking about putting a 228 cam and your LS1 heads on the 6.0L? That will raise the compression and should really add some performance. I think I saw someone else putting some LS1 heads on a 6.0L lately. Some dog, I think.
