im trying to convert my 1999 5.3liter silverado to LS1 or LS6....What are Some of the components i need...i know the heads, intake, the cpu system or can i keep the existing one?...or would it be easier and cheaper to buy a used ls1 with the wiring harness and just swap it out?....

On my existing motor i have the K&N cold air intake, Heddman headers, flowmasters and an electronic exhaust cut-out and some cpu mods....where else can i get some hp or trq...are underdrive pullies worth buying...

cam, tune, e-fans, UD pulleys, gears, torque converter.. the list goes on and on for HP and TQ gains.... this is just general mods that people do and arent that difficult to do..

its all in how deep your pockets are.... if your like me i buy something when i have the money then start saving up for the next item on my list

i would start with a cam from what you already have and keep the motor you got...... theres ALOT of power hidden in our 5.3's

edit: OH i meant to say cam AND tune, because once you get the cam you will need a tune...... i am running a Nelson Tune on my truck and that thing scoots

well it all depends on the goals that you have set... in mytruck i have a 220/220 581/581 @112+2 ... mine is very streetable, but there are endless amounts of different specs you can go with.....

Ok...thanks....do underdrive pullies really make a big difference?.....also my rear end...wut is a good gear set up where i can get more torque off the line, but still have freeway top end?....

and i have the hypertech programmer....ive plugged it in a few time and it said "INVALID CALIBRATION" is there a plug where i can unplug it and it reset and use then use the programmer

on the pulleys, im not sure... but i will be buying some and ill let you know LOL..

in mine i have the 3.42's (stock) and i like my highway top end as well... but if you want a little more without sacrificing too much i would guess 3.73's would do you some good... that with a posi unit

and as far as hypertech... i would say sell it to someone and put your $ towards a Nelson tune...
