Hi, I have this annoying squelling sound coming from one of the pulleys I think. I have replaced both belts, both tensioners and the idler pulley. Every time I open the hood to see where its coming from it goes away (very weird I know). I went to Advanced auto parts one day when I was passing buy hoping that one of them have seen this before. When I walked in the store you could hear the noise from outside, but when we walked out to show him it suddenly stopped as we opened the door. It does not do it all the time only when its at an idle, if you give it just a little bit of gas it will go away until you go back to an idle. It just seems to do it when Im sitting at a red light with hot girls near by, or when there is some macho in his "HEMI" reading my "It will beat a HEMI" sticker from, Moze. If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it. Thanks Brett

If it only happens with the a/c on, I'd guess it was the fan belt tensioner is getting weak.

If it quits when you open the hood, I would suspect the fan clutch. The change in air currents would change. Could take it off and see if it changes.

I would think you could unbolt the fan, put the bolts back in with out the fan. { might have to use shorter bolts or spacers } start it up and see if the noise goes away. just for a test before you buy a new one.
