LQ9 pistons for LQ4. Floating Pistons on pressed rods. Help.
I have an 03 LQ4, and would like to put in a set of cheap LQ9 flat tops, but the rods in an 03 LQ4 have press for Pistons, and all the LQ9 pistons I've found are floating.
I'd like to know if anyone knows where I can get a set of 8 flat tops for under $250 that are pressed pins?
Or.
If I can use floating Pistons with the factory pin from the LQ4 Pistons.
Or.
If I can convert the stock pressed rods to full floating. (Without breaking the bank).
This is going into a 2000 1500 4x4 and will be my DD. I just want more power than my 300k mile 5.3 had 250k miles ago.
Literally everything else on the truck is brand new...
-Rear gears, carrier, and axle bearings.
-All 4 brake calipers and rotors.
-Stainless brake lines.
-Fuel lines.
-AC condenser, compressor, evap and dryer.
-4L60e trans (built) w/ converter
-DR44 alt upgrade
-Projection LED headlights
And I have HPTuners so when I get the 6.0l in with it's cam and 799 heads, I can make it run like it should.
