from were do you get the class 2 serial data cable

    thanks

its just the chass 2 line that goes between the modules. the most convenient place is right at the aldl 16 pin connector... its just wire, nothing special..not like some computer cable.

i need to ask you a question i started a project on a 00 silverado on the interior (the dash) and i got everything even the back mount of the other truck but i had to put the 00 in there because of the ac controls plugs aren't the same and i was thinking of connecting the wires with the things that clamp the wire and then you insert a male pin into it but i dont know if the wires do the same thing even if they are the same color because most of them are and i need your experties

    thanks

your working on a 00 truck, right? and doing a dash swap??? to a different color??? what year wiring harness is in the dash? what year did the control head come out of. and pictures of both of the ac controlers you have, the one comming out and the one you want to go in.. and i will take a look... some of the controlers will transfer over, i have done auto climate swaps before and you need all the extra wiring added to make it work . . did you get the dash harness with the new dash??? can you use that complete harness??

i'm still confused on the project??? what years are we dealing with??? is the truck a 2000? and is the dash harness a 2000? what years are the parts?? are they from a 03? some of the 03 an newer parts arent uasable on older rigs. give me a list of the years.....

the harness thats in the truck is from a 2000 and the parts we want to put in the truck are from the 2005 avalanche

the 05' stuff is computer driven and cant be programed to match up with the 00'ecm/bcm. if you use a 05' ecm/bcm and all the wiring to match it might work, but you will have to make the complete system a 05'..(then the engine/ trans becomes a issue) the radio is vin locked, the hvac is for a dual zone setup,,,do you have it all???...if you try to reprogram the cluster with a different year it locks up solid and becomes a door stop. if you want the pinouts still just let me know... but this seems like a really hard swap for a 120mph spedo and different hvac control head...if you need the 120 spedo than swap the front plate from the cluster and get a hypertech programer to reflash the spedo to make the needle match the numbers using the 2000 year cluster...thats my theory on the swap from the dealer leval... i have tried to get that newer stuff to work in the past and hasnt worked in older rigs.
